Just across the Belgian border lies the village of Graauw. The former holiday home was converted into a rural villa with an enviable view. This is where the residents can relax, far away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and with a close connection between inside and outside. OOG3 paid a lot of attention to perspectives in order to include the vast plains in the design.
The entrance to the house is immediately an eye-catcher: a robust, pivoting door. From the entrance you enter the former barn that was converted into a living space. You also have access to the integrated workplace, the home office, to which the living room and bar connect.
This project is not a classic rural interior, but rather a contemporary interpretation of it. The oak veneer of the custom work is roughly brushed for an authentic look.” The floor is covered with soft broken stone in elongated tiles. The neutral appearance is the perfect basis for the interior. White and wood form the main elements, supplemented with subdued colours that harmonise with nature.
